Who is Intelligent Bio-Systems?

Intelligent Bio-Systems is developing a next generation DNA sequencing system that can simultaneously increase the speed and  reduce the cost of producing sequence data by a factor of 100 to 1,000. It uses a proprietary chemistry, high-density chip and fluorescent instrument system to accurately decode the sequence of DNA fragments. The technology has the potential to dramatically change the way research is performed and healthcare is delivered.

More About the Company

Intelligent Bio-Systems was founded in 2005 by Drs. Steven J. Gordon and Jingyue Ju to commercialize an advanced DNA sequencing system. Dr. Gordon previously founded Intelligent Automation Systems, which was responsible for a number of important instrumentation developments which helped to complete the Human Genome Project. Dr. Ju is one of the key inventors of fluorescent energy transfer dyes used in most electrophoresis-based sequencers.
